Abstract:
THz communication with its high bandwidth poses high requirements on electronic devices. Multiband transmission aggregating multiple carriers may improve the performance of high data rate transmission at THz frequencies. In this paper, we present an intercarrier interference analysis examining multiband transmissions that comply with IEEE Std 802.15.3d. Rectangular pulses and root-raised cosine pulses with a roll-off factor greater than 0.3 violate the transmit spectrum mask and roll-off factors greater than 0.5 cause high intercarrier interference. Root-raised cosine pulses impair only the first neighboring channel and the intercarrier interference is independent of the channel bandwidth.
