Abstract:
The demand for operational dynamic stability assessment (DSA) in Germany is increasing due to the advancing energy transition and the accompanying higher utilisation of the grid. Thus, the implementation of operational DSA is anchored as part of the national system stability roadmap [1]. The transmission system operator (TSO) Amprion implements a flexible multi-stage approach for DSA application starting with offline analyses through proof of concepts and finally to process integration in operational planning and close to real-time application. This includes the modular integration of assessment applications for various stability phenomena and operational processes. During first implementations, we have identified several challenges that are transparently discussed in this publication.
