Abstract:
This conference paper presents a new method for modeling the expansion needs of electricity, gas, and heating networks and provides a preview of the results of the dena Distribution Network Study II. The dena Distribution Network Study II aims to analyze key challenges and practical solutions for distribution network operators of electricity, gas, and heating networks. To this end, a technical and economic modeling of an archetypal local distribution network operator is con-ducted for quantitative evaluation. This includes an analysis of the supply structure in Germany and the modeling of an exemplary network operator with electricity, hydrogen, gas, and heating divisions. Based on target-oriented scenarios until 2045, asset development and investment needs are derived, and business models are expanded and parameterized. The resulting quantitative frameworks are then used for economic evaluations and their comparisons.
