Abstract:
This paper presents a digital twin of a multi-energy storage system. The prototype includes a hydrogen storage system, a thermal storage system and a battery system for optimal energy storage and recovery. The system is designed to cover the energy demand over an extended time horizon by using the high-pressure hydrogen tank. In this work, the individual components of the system are modeled with empirically measured data on a time basis of 15 minutes. Subsequently, different system configurations are simulated in different scenarios and their results are presented and rigorously compared. Due to the high complexity of the system and the dependencies between its components, the aim of this elaboration is to create dynamic models based on practical measured data, focusing on the operating point-dependent efficiency of the components, which simplifies the design of such systems.
