Abstract:
This work presents the deployment and performance evaluation of an industrial open radio access network (O-RAN), where we conduct a series of key performance indicators (KPI) measurements with various next generation Node B (gNB) configurations using the open-source O-RAN solution from OpenAir- Interface (OAI). Our findings reveal significant insights into the optimal configurations for enhancing network performance and resilience in industrial environments. Moreover, these results highlight the advantages and limitations of specific gNB setups, thus providing valuable guidance for future O-RAN deployments. Ultimately, this research contributes to ongoing efforts to optimize industrial communication networks, ensuring robust and efficient connectivity.
