Abstract:
The next generation of mobile networks will operate with CDMA and support multimedia services. Admission control, which can be categorized to resource management, plays an important role in mobile cellular systems. It can support quality of service (QoS) since it makes a decision about whether a new call should be admitted into the system. The currently proposed bandwidth based admission control is simple and easy to operate, however it may not support enough users since it has adopted omni-directional antennas. In this paper, an effective bandwidth based admission control scheme with antenna arrays under ideal power control is investigated. This will enable the acceptance of more users while maintaining the required QoS.
