Abstract:
Nowadays the spread of wireless technologies and mobile devices shape networking visions of ambient and persistent mobile networks that mobile users are able to have resort to. Since ambient networks are heterogeneous, distributed and dynamically forming networks, new and affordable network management architecture is needed to cope with the special network preferences. In our paper we discuss the management plane view of dynamic network composition for Ambient Networks. We present the policy framework that enables the networks to make dynamic and automated management decisions. Finally we introduce the architecture of a modular peer-to-peer platform that implements the proposed management solution.
