Abstract:
A novel single-phase rectifier is introduced in this paper, which consists of a front-end full-bridge diode rectifier followed by a ZVS Boost Active Clamping converter. By using an auxiliary switch and a capacitor, ZVS for all switches is achieved without any additional magnetic component. To eliminate the voltage ringing across the main rectifier diode, a small diode is added. Applying the proposed concept to a 500W/108kHz PFC prototype for universal line application, the efficiency can reach 92.7% at 90V input with full load.
