Abstract:
A novel type of nano-porous electrode systems has been developed with the ultimate goal of enhancing sensitivity of electrochemical biosensors by employing redox cycling between sub-µm spaced electrodes. At the same time, low cost fabrication technologies are used in order to allow for widespread application of these systems. So far, amplification by a factor of six through redox cycling in nanopores has already been demonstrated.
