Evaluation of Biot-Savart law is often necessary when field problems containing free currents, e.g. in exciting coils have to be solved. This can be time-consuming in cases with many observation points mainly because volume integrals have to be carried out which are generally slow. We, therefore, developed an approach to accelerate evaluation of Biot-Savart law with the fast multipole method. Numerical results indicate its efficiency especially when the number of current-carrying volume elements or the number of observation points are high.
