Abstract:
The thermal stability of high-voltage devices such as surge arresters is analyzed using weakly coupled thermo-dynamic-electroquasistatic 3D transient field simulations based on the Whitney Finite Element Method (WFEM). Details on the simulation scheme and first numerical results are presented for a realistic surge arrester structure.
