Abstract:
This paper discusses the effects of oscillator noise on bistatic SAR imaging. Difference between monostatic and bistatic returns phase errors caused by oscillator unstability is addressed. Based on the exponential model of oscillator phase noise, bistatic SAR imaging of single point target is simulated using two different oscillators, where one is more stable than another. Then, the effects are divided into three parts, linear phase errors, quadratic phase errors and wideband high frequency errors, and quantitative estimates are studied.
