Abstract:
This paper provides details of an algorithm developed by ESA to decrease the impact of Clutter on Radar Echo Sounder data. The algorithm has resulted in a significant improvement in the effective system performance of data acquired by the British Antarctic Survey over Pine Island Glacier, Antarctica. First impressive results show the hidden bedrock after SAR processing under 2 km depth. A high benefit is expected for such a technique for current and future sounding missions.
