Abstract:
Within this contribution the problem of forming subsurface radar images by means of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) will be addressed. The investigated fast SAR technique allows for reducing the 3D problem which is encountered when an image of a subsurface target is to be reconstructed to a 2D one by focusing only on a single layer of the corresponding data stack. In order to investigate the influence of various array parameter that effect the results of the processing two simulation techniques will be introduced, namely, an analytic dipole field calculation and a numerical 3D field simulation of a TEM double-ridged horn antenna.
