Abstract:
A Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) with multiple receive antennas was proposed to overcome the constraint between wide swath width, continuous coverage, and high azimuth resolution. Digital Beamforming (DBF) technique for the SAR system relax this restriction and achieves wide swath widths without degradation of the image quality by means of the suppression of azimuth ambiguity. In this paper we present the demonstrator system of the DBF SAR. For the reliable demonstration, we take several considerable factors into account such as antenna characteristic and RF subsystem requirements. The system performance is analyzed by simulation applying the design consideration mentioned above.
