Abstract:
We have employed a coherent electromagnetic simulator for L-band SAR images of forest to predict multibaseline interferometric SAR imagery. The simulator enables us to know detailed ground data, and to control the effects of baseline miscalibration and temporal decorrelation. The realistic, simulated images may be processed as real SAR data, and the multibaseline data set has been processed with an adaptive, 3D, SAR tomography algorithm. The experiment provides a quantitative test of the algorithm under ideal controlled conditions, and permits the assessment and optimization of algorithm performance.
