Abstract:
The azimuth ambiguity is one of the most important characters to scale the image quality. But the traditional expression in strip-map SAR does not match the situation in spotlight. This paper first circumscribes a new formula to describe the azimuth ambiguity of spotlight SAR. Then focusing on the space-borne condition, which may cause serious azimuth spectral overlap phenomenon due to the limited values of the pulse repetition frequency, we analyse the degradation of azimuth ambiguity caused by the two-step algorithm. At last, combining with the simulation results, we point out how to optimize the PRF during design.
