Abstract:
In the paper, we propose a method for retrieving 3D relief by using a single-antenna, squint-mode, airborne SAR. The main idea of the method is based on the fact that the spatial 3D location of a target can be found as the intersection of the range sphere, the Doppler cone, and the elevation plane of the antenna pattern. It is shown, that the accuracy of the relief retrieve is mainly determined by the accuracy of the estimation of Doppler centroid values at each range gate. The adequacy and robustness of the proposed method has been proved with real SAR data.
