Abstract:
The Optimization of Polarimetric Contrast Enhancement (OPCE) is to choose optimal polarization states for obtaining a maximum power ratio between a desired target versus an undesired target/clutter. Recently it was extended to a general form (i.e., generalized OPCE). Using the OPCE and the GOPCE for road detection of a polarimetric SAR image, this paper demonstrates that the GOPCE associated with a linear combination can provide better detection result although the corresponding contrast ratio is less than that of the GOPCE associated with a quadratic form. It implies that a large ratio is not equivalent to a better detection result.
