In this paper, the polygonal active contour method is adapted to the case of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images of urban areas. The statistical criterion is modified to be able to deal with Fisher distribution which has been proven to be well adapted to urban areas. To keep a fast algorithm implementation, an new expression of the criterion is computed. The criterion is then implemented and tested over simulated and real high resolution SAR images containing urban areas.
