Abstract:
This paper discusses possibilities for spectral subband analysis for ambiguity vs. target discrimination. Wrong range migration corrections and defocusing would lead ambiguous scatterers to have specific spectral behaviors. Subband analysis is achieved in two different ways either by moving a fixed size subband over the whole spectrum or by using multiple subband sizes in a multiresolution approach. We have defined a set of relatively simple features to characterize ambiguous scatterers in reconstructed sublooks. The discriminative nature of these features is evaluated over various data sets, including satellite and airborne, real and simulated data.
