Abstract:
Multisource remote sensing image fusion uses the images come from many sensors to obtain the more accurate and reliable descriptions on the same objects and scenes. SAR and optical images have their superior characters each. Fusion of the SAR and optical images can synthesize each superior character into one image, which is very useful for human interpretation. In this paper, a IHS and wavelet transforms based image fusion method is used to combine a SAR image and a multispectral image which is covered with clouds. The result is that the fusion image contains both spectral information from multispectral image and spatial information below clouds and shadows from SAR image. It is more suitable for human interpretation.
