Abstract:
Spectrum partitioning is developed by many parameters but depends primarily on the speed of users in the microcells and macrocells and on the number of microcells overlaid by a single macrocell. This paper contains a teletraffic analysis to model a hierarchical cellular structure formed of two layers and a dynamic method to divide the spectrum. Both the teletraffic analysis and the spectrum partitioning technique are based on optimal strategy as a simple combination of two determinants: the ratio of call setup and handover request between micro and macrocells based on UE speed. The optimal strategy shows how a user selects the optimal target call setup or handover while keeping the signaling messages for user operations as minimal status.
