Abstract:
Due to the unique properties of ad hoc networks like dynamic topology, multi-hop relay and link failure, GKA protocols for wired networks cannot be directly applied to mobile ad hoc networks. To our knowledge, many of the protocols proposed so far fail to take a systematic look on these properties and thus do not adapt well to the ad hoc environment. In this paper, we present a robust and adaptive GKA protocol secure against passive adversaries. It is adaptive to dynamic ad hoc topology, robust to node and link failure, optimal in message complexity and suitable for imbalanced ad hoc networks in the presence of nodes with different computation power.
