Abstract:
This paper deals with the transmission over a set of parallel Gaussian broadcast channels, where the maximum number of users served in each channel is limited. Such a limitation is desirable to enable an efficient multi-user downlink transmission. Starting from the solution for optimal power allocation, a strategy is presented, to squeeze out users from overloaded channels. Computer simulations are presented which show that considerable improvement can be achieved with the proposed scheme in comparison to a scheduling approach.
