Abstract:
During the last years it has been shown that Multi-Carrier Spread Spectrum (MC-SS) systems offers great spectral efficiency, robustness and flexibility. For high data rate in multi-user environments large bandwidth is necessary and dynamic resource allocation (DRA) becomes essential. When coming to adaptive systems many techniques have been proposed for OFDM systems that implement bit loading, sub-carrier and user allocation, power loading, adaptive coding, etc. For MS-SS these techniques must be adapted in order to achieve the optimum performance. In this work, a new scheduling algorithm exploiting multi-user diversity and adaptive bit loading for MC-CDMA is proposed. This system performs better than other adaptive OFDM systems when non-perfect channel estimation is considered since frequency spreading smoothes the estimation errors.
