High frequency conducted interference on the cable between an inverter and a motor is a well known problem. This paper investigates an EMI filter for both common and differential mode conducted emissions on the cable. The filter presented uses an integrated passive structure instead of the conventional discrete lumped element components. The investigation focuses on the functional configuration of this integrated passive structure. Several experimental prototype structures are constructed and their performance is measured.
