Abstract:
Hyundai Motor Co. has been striving to develop the power electronics technology in automotive applications, with aiming at fuel saving and safety enhancement of vehicles. The power electronics of Hyundai are mainly focused on three sections; High-performance/high-efficiency electric machine, power semiconductor and control software. In these technologies of three sections, a common platform concept is developed for both the cost-effective solutions of car electronics and preparation of hybrids and future fuelcell vehicle. The development activities of power electronics technologies of Hyundai are reviewed and a synergic relationship with diverse partners in core competence is introduced.
