Abstract:
TheWearIT@Work project aims to show that wearable computers are a viable technology concept for workers of the future. Context awareness is one of the key features of wearables and context includes location. Within the project, a number of alternative positioning technologies are being explored as the requirements for the various scenarios vary greatly. In this paper, we describe our progress using two approaches, WLAN-based positioning and wearable Pedestrian Dead Reckoning.
