We propose a novel, but simple wavelength initialization method, without using lookup table, for the Bragg-grating based tunable ECL. The proposed method provides the accuracy such that the wavelengths are initialized within 0.5 nm from the designated ones, which is enough to be used in the WDM-PON with 200GHz wavelength spacing.
