Abstract:
In this paper, we present the development of a low power video monitoring application intended for wireless sensor networks (WSNs) and based on the IEEE 802.15.4 standard. This work has been developed with power consumption as a main concern and provides a study and evaluation of specific power strategies using Dynamic Voltage and Frequency Scaling (DVFS) under Linux. We expose in detail the implementation of the video application using Beagleboard platforms for video sensors and display nodes, and derive oportunities to exploit power strategies at CPU level using DVFS.
