Abstract:
While probabilistic OFDM-PAPR reduction techniques show a good PAPR reduction performance as a distortionless technique, three important problems should be taken into consideration: low complexity design to generate multiple candidates, protection of side information, and effective PAPR reduction regardless of the channel coding model. We present low complexity design using Frequency Division binary Mask (FDM). The FDM generates more candidates than the number of IFFT computations, which improve the PAPR reduction capability, and it protects the embedded side information by using powerful channel codes. Furthermore, while conventional label method is so dependent on the type of channel coding that non-recursive channel codes should be avoided for the effective PAPR reduction, our FDM method shows good performance for both error rate and PAPR reduction even when non-recursive channel codes are used.
