Abstract:
In this paper, we propose a blind equalizer for the MIMO frequency selective channels. The proposed equalizer, called the Least Mean Squares soft decision-directed equalizer, consists of a blind clustering algorithm piloted by the soft decisions at its output. The equalizer taps are updated by maximizing the a posteriori probability density function of the equalized signal. The performances of the proposed equalizer are compared to those of the modified Constant Modulus algorithm and to those of the dual-mode modified Constant Modulus algorithm MCMA+DD-MIMO. Simulation results show that the proposed equalizer has a lower residual MSE than the other simulated algorithms.
