Abstract:
The paper presents results of designing and investigation of photonic antenna for full-duplex wireless communication systems. Presented transmitting and receiving photonic antenna is integrated into single radiator which operate on two orthogonal polarizations. The transmitting photonic antenna is based on laser diode integrated with radiator since the receiving one is based on photodiode integrated with the same radiator but in place where polarization is orthogonal. The developed antenna has been studied as Remote Antenna Unit (RAU) for full-duplex Radio over Fiber (RoF) system. RoF technique enables distributing multiple wireless services in one system by using optical links to transmit signals between one central station and several remote RAU stations. The results show, e. g. that in the range from -10 dBm to 10 dBm of input microwave signal designed photonic RAU contributed relatively low damage to transmitting signal.
