Abstract:
The CFLs use an electronic device (ballast) that injects harmonics in the distribution networks, altering the levels of power quality. However, the lamps distributed in Germany have better performance than the Colombian CFLs. Electrical tests were carried out to characterize the lamps and simulations in a distribution feeder were made to compare the effects of the CFLs in Colombia and Germany.
