Abstract:
Industries play the biggest role in global energy consumption and due to the problem of energy storage and to compensate the peak consumption; electric utility companies should generate the demanded electricity at any given moment. If the utilities produce more than the needed, the energy produced will be wasted when demand is overestimated and cause blackout when demand is underestimated. Therefore; energy needs to be managed carefully, industrial consumers have to adapt to modern concepts. Industrial enterprise should interface with the smart grid to utilize the communication technology and information to optimally transmit and distribute electricity. To do so - the basic approaches about creating universal interface between some industrial enterprises, e. g. power plants, factories, manufactures and so on and fundamental technology areas that will drive the smart grid will be discussed.
