Abstract:
A circularly polarized 2x2 quad-unit antenna is presented. The quad-unit is excited by a square patch on a ground plane. Two square holes are cut on the ground plane and are located underneath one opposite corner of the fed-patch. Axial-ratio bandwidth of 11.5% centered at 5.5 GHz is achieved by adjusting the relative positions of the fed- patch, the apertures, and the quad-unit.
