Abstract:
MU-MIMO-OFDM can be seen as an attractive approach to realize high system capacity under the limitation on hardware cost and frequency selective fading. However, MU-MIMO-OFDM has an inherent problem of nonlinear distortion which is more severe than SISO-OFDM case. In this paper, we propose the OFDM clipping and filtering scheme employing deterministic transmit power control to overcome the BER degradation due to the severe nonlinear distortion. In the proposed approach, the transmit power level can be determined by the closed form formula thanks to the fact that the transmit signals at each antenna follows Rayleigh distribution. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is verified in terms of the BER and throughput by means of computer simulations.
