Abstract:
Using the well-known burst mode from single phase rectifiers with active power factor correction (PFC) can improve the energy efficiency of 3-phase active front end converters and simplify the converter circuit design. Especially if the mains chokes are not integrated into the inverters, replacing the 3-phase line voltage measurement by reliable line voltage estimation is an advantage.
