Abstract:
Advanced technology development of an electronic unit for monitoring and active balancing of large battery systems, such as those used in electro-mobility or emergency power supplies. By the new concept and its corresponding implementation (soft- and hardware), an accurate cell-voltage measurement and therefore a condition-monitoring of each series-connected battery cells can be done. The innovative design enables to charge and discharge each cell with an efficiency of about 80 %. The costs could be reduced about 2,5 - 3,5 € per cell which is desirable by the industrial markets.
