Abstract:
Speed-sensorless operation of machines eliminates the need for a sensor, reducing cost and enhancing reliability. For speed identification schemes based on linear models of the machine various concepts are known. In case of doubly-fed induction machines challenges result from the slotting of the stator as well as of the rotor, leading to harmonics of the respective currents at quasi-sinusoidal voltages. Including slotting and the resulting current harmonics into the model allows for speed identification.
