Abstract:
Developing Self Organizing Network (SON) algorithms for enhanced Inter Cell Interference Co-ordination (eICIC) and investigating their co-existence with other SON features such as Mobility Robustness Optimization (MRO) requires studying how much the performance of users is affected in terms of e.g. throughput and Radio Link Failures (RLFs). However, for such a study, computationally-efficient and abstract radio resource management models are indispensable. This work contributes a simplified and fast scheduler model based on utility maximization. The simplified model is compared with scheduler model that is built with numerical method. With the help of simulations, it is shown that the simplified scheduler model exhibits a similar resource sharing behavior and UE throughput statistics as the numerical one.
