Abstract:
As a single stage direct convert, Matrix Converter (MC) and its applications are still limited by its complex control and costly processing platform. In this paper, a design concept with a single logic chip constructed middleware is presented and analysed. A single phase matrix converter design is simulated and evaluated. The design concept provides the feasibility of employing PWM controller to realise the operation of a matrix converter, which greatly reduces the complexity and cost.
