Abstract:
Mitsubishi Electric J-series Transfer-molding Power Modules (T-PM) have been applied in Electrical Vehicles (EV) for more than 10 years successfully. Practice proves that it completely satisfies the automotive for power modules’ requirements of higher reliability and durability, low thermal and electrical impedance, compact system size and lighter weight. Recently, in order to satisfy emerging EV market, automotive-class ASIC M81741JFP is also designed to drive and protect EV T-PM. it could detect and realize turning on and turning off T-PM well. Moreover, when under voltage (UV), over temperature (OT) and short-circuit (SC) faults happen, M81741JFP switches off EV T-PM with soft-shutdown method.
