This paper presents the performance of J1-Series power modules with evaluation kits. J1-series power modules are dedicated for Electric vehicle (EV) and Hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) power-train inverter and converter applications. J1-series adopts the 6-in-1 circuit configuration, the 7th generation IGBT and Free Wheel Diode (FWD), the DLB structure and the direct cooling structure with integrated water-cooled Al fin. J1-series expands the line-up for the EV/HEV market requirements. Evaluation kit is constituted of driver board, water jacket and DC-Link capacitor, and is optimized to maximize the compactness and low loss of the J1-Series’s features. The driver board adopts new gate driver IC which is developed for high performance IGBT. By using evaluation kit, inverter system which is suitable for EV/HEV can be achieved quickly.
