Abstract:
This paper presents a novel 1200V High Voltage Integrated Circuit (1200V HVIC): M81748FP for half bridge driver applications. The new device is suitable to drive power MOSFET/IGBT modules in industrial inverter systems. The introduced HVIC (M81748FP) has got a High-side fault protection circuitry employed facilitating a fault protection not only on Low-side but on High-side, too and, furthermore, a reverse level shifter transferring such a High-side fault situation to the Low-side fault output (Fo). This innovation compared with the predecessor (M81738FP) permits a High-side fault protection circuit detecting an earth fault. The employed reverse level shifter can transmit the High-side fault signal to the Low-side and provides this to the superimposed control system in a logic level referred to N (GND) potential.
