Abstract:
The paper discusses design of the bi-directional two level 6-phase converter which operates in discontinuous conduction mode in order to reduce costs and remove the current control loop in each phase. High current ripples associated with this mode operation are then alleviated by interleaving. In order to control this kind of DC-DC converter the digital signal processor is used. In the paper the control algorithm and mathematical expressions for duty cycle calculation is presented. Such converter can be used for charging and discharging of the accumulators or the ultracapacitors. Digital control of the DC-DC converter makes it easy and quickly to configure.
