Abstract:
The new power controller stages are designed to minimize the conduction losses and improve the thermal budget with tight requirements for both high current and high speed switching performance. To match these targets, low ohmic MOSFETs with both dedicated capacitive features and proper body drain diode softness are strictly recommended. The selection hints for the most adequate power MOSFET devices for a bridge motor control application are: the switching performance, EMI radiated and conducted emissions over frequency and thermal performance. This paper shows the experimental results relevant to 2 different benchmarks.
