The paper presents a high power density inverter concept for single phase AC power applications. Line inductors at the input and the output of the switching power electronics feature low electromagnetic interference EMI and provide power conversion. A variable DC link voltage minimizes the capacity of the DC link power buffer and allows the use of multilayer ceramic capacitors with lowest equivalent series resistance and best electromagnetic interference filtering of the power stack.
