Abstract:
An increasing number of design parameters and constrains implies a central challenge for optimizing electronic circuits. Computerized automated algorithms offer a considerable alternative to traditional empirical methods or extensive mathematical efforts. This paper describes a new framework for realizing optimization algorithms on top of multi-domain simulators. This framework provides all generic components like data management, simulator interface as well as extensive reporting and post processing functionality. The user benefits from an open interface for implementing additional algorithms as plug-ins. The usability of the framework has been comprehensively proven by the exemplary optimization of an active PFC using the provided Genetic Algorithm and Monte-Carlo plug-in.
